Camp Nazareth, located in Mercer, PA, has been serving a variety of groups and hosting many different events since 1977. It has hosted religious camps, sports camps, weekend retreats, school meetings, marriage retreats, band camps and other events during its 36-year history. 2024 Camp Nazareth Wishlist!!
The 2024 Camp Nazareth Wishlist is now out! Please sponsor one of the items on the list (or even part of one) and help Camp fulfill its Wishlist goal for 2024. Some of the items are related to the Campers, some to the Staff, some to the Kitchen, some to the Camp Church, and some for Programming and New Internship Positions. The Camp Wishlist is a great way for you to support the Camp in its mission to provide each person who comes to Camp with a living experience of our Faith. Once you sponsor/reserve an item (or part of an item), you will be sent an email with instructions about how to give towards the item. The Nazarene - Camp's Official Newsletter!!
Welcome to the first edition our campers' version of The Nazarene, Camp Nazareth’s monthly electronic Newsletter! Each month Camp will send out The Nazarene via email and post it on social media and here on our website for our campers. Fun activities, Camp pics, Camp news, church hymns, quotes from The Fathers, and lots more will be in each edition of the kids’ version of The Nazarene. Tell your kids to be on the lookout for their version of The Nazarene and to be on the lookout for how they can help make The Nazarene a great newsletter. We’ll be asking them for monthly submissions (art work, quotes, poems, etc.). The submissions are due the 15th of each month. Click on The Nazarene link below to find out more!

There is also a version of The Nazarene for mom's and dad's and our entire Diocesan faithful! This version of The Nazarene will be sent out via email and will contain lots of interesting pictures and articles about the “goings-on” at Camp during the previous month as well as the different events, projects and happenings that are coming up. The Nazarene will be a great way for Camp to keep in touch with its extended family and a great way for you to be “in the know” about all things Camp.
We are excited to begin this monthly newsletter in BOTH versions and look forward to reaching
out to our entire Camp family!

Here's a sneak peek at our 2025 Diocesan Summer Camping Weeks! SAVE THE DATES!!
Week 1: Sunday, July 20 – Saturday, July 26, 2025 – Pittsburgh, Mid-Atlantic, Washington D.C., and Tri-State Deaneries
Week 2: Sunday, July 27 – Saturday, August 2, 2025 – New England, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Canada Deaneries
Week 3: Sunday, August 3 – Saturday, August 9, 2025 -- Johnstown, Pocono, Southern Tier, Youngstown and Chicago Deaneries
Science and Nature Camp: Sunday, August 10 - Wednesday, August 13, 2025
Campers, Parents and Clergy are all encouraged to return periodically to the Camp’s website for helpful information as we move forward together towards the 2025 Summer. As we move forward together, please note the following for 2025:
- The Camping weeks will run Sunday to Saturday
- Group Transportation (buses, vans, etc.) will be allowed
- Kids ages 8-18 (must be 8 AND have completed 2nd Grade by the beginning of your Camping Week) may Register for Camp
- Campers may register for multiple weeks at Camp. HOWEVER, please remember that no campers are allowed to stay over the weekend at Camp.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled, enjoyable and beautiful summer together again with EVERYONE in 2025!!
On Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 (at 7pm ET) and Thursday, February 20th, 2025 (at 7pm EST) (prior to Registration opening on March 1), Camp will offer two informational webinars (they are the same webinar, but are being offered twice) about the 2025 Summer Camping Weeks for all our campers, parents, clergy, volunteers and potential Staff. The webinars will include the latest information on our 2025 Summer Camping Weeks including information about the Camp’s facility, kitchen, medical and program plans. If you miss the webinars you can access an archived version of one of them here! All campers and their families are encouraged to attend the webinars, but especially any first-time campers and their families!

Other Events in 2025
Young Adult Retreat: Friday, March 14 - Sunday, March 16, 2025
Sponsored by our Diocese, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh and the Ukranian Orthodox Archdiocese, this event is for all Young Adults ages 18-35. We've been hosting this event for 9 years now, both in the Spring and in the Fall. Young Adults from across all Orthodox jurisdictions have participated in the fun weekend event. It's Camp for Young Adults with speakers, learning, church services, fun, free-time, great evening events, and opportunities to meet plenty of other young adults. Save the Date!! Sts. Joachim and Anna Senior Retreat (55+): Friday, May 2 - Sunday, May 4, 2025
Our Diocese is pleased to announce its fifth annual Sts. Joachim and Anna Senior Retreat which will take place at Camp Nazareth Retreat and Conference Center in Mercer, PA from April 9-11, 2024. The Retreat will feature keynote addresses, great evening activities and an off-site event. His Eminence Metropolitan Gregory is inviting all our Diocesan Seniors, ages 55 and over, to join him for 2 days of fellowship, prayer, and fun. The Retreat will help our Seniors navigate the many challenges they face all while remaining focused on and committed to our Lord. It will include worship, fellowship, learning, fun, and time for reflection and relaxation. Save the Date!!

Family Camp: Friday, May 30 - Sunday, June 1, 2025
This will be our 11th Annual Family Camp! Families are invited to come enjoy all that Camp has to offer! The schedule will include services, meals together, games and activities, hiking, evening events, Ropes Course activities, keynote speakers and learning together, as well as plenty of free-time. Kids will have time together just by themselves with special activities planned by the Camp Staff. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents will also have time together just by themselves. Families will have an entire cabin to themselves and enjoy great meals provided by our Kitchen Staff.
Space is limited to the first 10 families!

Family Day: Sunday, June 1, 2025
Our Annual Family Day will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025. This is the "Kick-off" to our summer season at Camp. Faithful from around the Diocese are invited to attend the day's festivities which will begin with a beautiful Divine Liturgy at 10am, followed by a delicious brunch, live music and all kinds of games and activities for kids and adults alike! Adults $10, Children under 13 are $6, and Children under 5 are free. A Family Price of $30 includes 2 parents and all children under age 13. This is a great way to start our summer together! Join us on June 1st! There is no registration for Family Day. Come one! Come all!
Clergy Family Week: Monday, June 2 - Thursday, June 5, 2025
This will be our third ever Clergy Family Week. Our clergy families are invited to Camp anytime, for any number of days, from Monday, 6/2/25 - Thursday, 6/5/25. The Clergy Family Week is free-of-charge. Camp will provide 3 meals/day and snacks, as well as the accommodations. There will also be 1 or 2 scheduled activities during the day for our Clergy Families (hiking, Ropes Course, basketball game, swimming, movie, etc.), as well as morning and evening services, but the rest of the schedule will be up to the families. Kid-sitting will be available as well. Clergy families are invited to simply enjoy the peaceful environment of the Camp together. Registration will open on February 1, 2025. 2025 Science and Nature Camp
Camp Nazareth's Fourth Annual Science and Nature Camp will take place from Sunday, August 10 - Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Camp participants will learn all about Astronomy, Biology, Earth Science, Geology, Meteorology and SO MUCH MORE! Past Presentations and activities have been given and led by the Carnegie Science Center, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Jennings Environmental Center, as well as local high school teachers and college professors.
Participants will have the opportunity to use telescopes, microscopes, and water quality management technology as well as explore the trails, waterfalls, streams and geography of the Camp. Special emphasis will be placed on appreciating the beauty of nature and the wonder of the fields of science they will study.
The Science and Nature Camp is a resident (sleep-away) Camp for ages 8-18. It will take place on the 289 beautiful acres of Camp Nazareth property located at 339 Pew Road, Mercer, PA.
Registration will open on March 1, 2025.

In addition to the Science and Nature program, participants will enjoy the many amenities Camp Nazareth has to offer including a Junior Olympic-size swimming pool, climate-controlled cabins, sports fields and basketball courts, a large Rec Room, a volleyball court, and much more.
